Once we began talking, Paige decided to fly up to upstate New York for our first official date: brunch and a stroll around Target - classic. It wasn’t long before we both realized this was endgame for both of us and thus we began our relationship of flights back-and-forth between Texas/New York/New Jersey/California as Nikhil finished his PhD and got his dream job at Apple. Though we knew we were getting married (after all, Paige insisted to tag along when ring shopping), Nikhil still spent weeks scheming.
We were introduced accidentally in upstate New York by our best friend Sam (and Nikhil’s former labmate) while they were both earning their PhDs. Paige and her other best friend Veronica had decided on an impromptu visit to Albany to visit Sam. On our first day where, Nik had come over to lend something to Sam. We met and instantly hit it off. We were friends first since the timing just wasn’t right. In a bold first move, Paige texted Nikhil and from then on, they were in constant contact.
He proposed in Paige's hometown of Austin, TX surrounded by her best friends.
We have spent most of our relationship flying back and forth to visit each other, spending as much time as possible together between work and personal commitments. We officially moved in together in May 2020!
Lots of FaceTimes, Southwest Rapid Rewards points and planning later and now we’re getting married – AH! It’s been so much fun to bring our families together so far and truly get to the root of building a meaningful life together.
We're constantly tweaking recipes, trying to increase Paige's spice tolerance and sneaking scraps to Paddington.
Whoever said corgis were excellent dogs were dead wrong. But we love him anyways.
Visiting family, exploring nearby beaches or park, or simply driving around to find new areas to explore -- that's our jam.
We make it a habit to find art museums (especially modern art museums) in every state we're visiting. One of our first dates was at MassMoCa in Western Massachusetts.
Whether it's grocery shopping, spending time in the backyard, going to the post office, dropping each other off at the airport, or even just sitting on the couch next to each other staring at our phones. All we know is that life is better together.
